I've never actually WRITTEN a post on here...

It's 8.31am on 16th Feb 2011, and I'm up at this time on my DAY OFF because my brain was going crazy with ideas for F.M.P.

So the negotiated project is practically over and I can't say it's had a great deal of influence over my ideas for the final major project. My last essay, however, written on Tracey Emin and Jason Rhodes, did! Installation, I believe, is now my way forward! I've never done installation before but I'm super excited to start exploring my ideas in this way.

All through my negotiated project I haven't really felt like 'object of desire' was particularly welcomed. Some just thought 'oh she's just painting her boyfriend' but to be honest not many could appreciate my reasons behind it. It's been good painting in a more expressive manner, stepping outside my comfort zone to produce work that not everyone 'oo's' and 'ahhs' at.

Yes it's been tough.

It's not that I can't take forward anything from this project. Over the weeks I've experimented and produced work, the majority of which I would not class as polished pieces, but that's ok. I think I can take forward this idea that not everything needs to be finished and that as new ideas surface, other works may be pushed aside to explore another avenue.

I so far have a page full of rough ideas and I'm ready to go out, armed with my camera, and document these ideas through photography. Painting is not something I will completely abandon, it will find it's place somewhere, but in terms of my love affair of painting the figure, maybe that can be set aside for now.

I hope to get some images up on here soon of my initial ideas, but I think that's enough of blogging my random thoughts for one morning.
